Tomato season begins

Well, the precursor to tomato season begins. Ned and I spent President's Day planting the heirloom tomato seeds that we harvested after last August's trip to the East Nashville Tomato Art Festival. Now we only have to wait six more months until the harvest bears fruit. It seems so far away!

Tomorrow will mark one year since Ned proposed. We'll spend it separately; Ned in Vicksburg, working on his dissertation, Mary Beth in Oxford, just working. Tomorrow also begins a six day road trip for MB--to Oxford, then to Nashville, then to Birmingham for the SFA's Potlikker Film Fest and board meeting. Look for updates from the road. Ned will, no doubt, be much too sad to post while I'm away.

In a last bit of news, our friends Lauchlin and Olivia now have their own blog. The front porch, which you'll see in a photo on their blog, is awesome. The door's always open, and those girls always seem to know when to ice down the beer.
