DAM at the Old Courthouse

It was a beautiful day, so we took DAM out for a portrait session.  He behaved, and smiled, and now he's napping.  Successful afternoon!

We remember fondly

the early days when he'd go to sleep without a tantrum. Of course, those were days, and night sleeping was something that he never really favored.

The Boss

Here's my family, minus my father (photographer) and my brother Patrick (who is already at the venue getting a great spot on the floor), headed for a bite to eat before they see Springsteen in ATL tonight.  I hope they enjoy a great show.  I'd love to be there!

Thursday at the park

DAM behaved on Thursday when he had to travel with MB to her ultrasound, so he was rewarded with a trip to the nearby park when we were finished.  He ran around for an hour and a half, but still showed no sign of lost energy when we returned home.  The afternoon consisted of a short nap and he still didn't go to bed until almost 10:30 p.m. We wish we had half his energy!
Mary Beth thought this looked too dangerous for DAM to slide.

But the small fire truck was a hit.

And the slide with the rollers provided good fun, even if he couldn't climb back up the wrong way.

Not sure about the connection between between a bouncy toy and a fish (ever heard of horses?), but DAM liked it.

The favorite activity at the entire park was sliding head first, of course.

Week in Review

Poor little Civic (Sunday)
So, to recap, here's the week in review.  Last weekend, I had to go to Memphis for work.  I was already nervous leaving the house in disarray, because DAM's new bedroom was being painted.  That turned out fine, as you saw, though we're still hanging pictures and rearranging bookshelves.  Thirty minutes before I hit the highway, however, the water in the shower refused to quit running.  The shower knob was apparently broken.  I left the house with the water flow stopped (thanks to our quick discovery that it was only hot water, and we were able to turn off the valves to the hot water heater).  Many hours and dollars later, Handyman Arch had the problem under control.  It was a 2-day affair, but he did get water back on the first day so the boys could use the facilities.  You saw all that here.  Then, on my way back from Memphis Sunday afternoon, the Honda completely quit running when I stopped on my way home (see photo above).  It's sad to see it on the back of the tow truck.  Things could have been worse, however.  I'm thankful that a police officer and Ned arrived quickly (both were close), the tow truck arrived quickly, we were at the exit headed home when it all happened, and the extended warranty we purchased several years ago covered the cost of the tow and repairs.  But, wow, what a week!  Did we mention that Baby M2 may arrive earlier than we expected?  That was news from the doctor's visit on Tuesday.  So, this weekend, we'll be hard at work unpacking newborn clothes, packing my hospital bags, and installing the second carseat.  Wish us luck!

Checking out my new room

Okay, so it's not really new, just a different color, but it sure seems new with furniture moved all around.

Odd sights in the 'burg

Yep, that's an unwrapped, still-frozen pizza propped against the curb. Must come with the house.

Arch was here

This weekend featured unexpected plumbing issues, necessitating a re-plumbed bath tub and shower. Fortunately, Handyman Arch was already on the scene painting the guest room, and he got the job done without MB having to witness the mayhem.

Family Photos

Images courtesy of Graham Wesley Photography

We had family photos made a couple of Sundays ago.  Visit this link to see them.  They ask for your email address, but there's no obligation to buy prints.  Thanks to Grandaddy and Nana for the great Christmas gift! And thanks to Graham (a civil engineer by trade) for a great photo session, despite our difficult two-year-old.
