Dinner out w/ the kids

D got a good "diagnosis"

He brought his own stethoscope and blood pressure cuff and checked out Nurse Sylvia and Dr. Sluis, telling each of them, "Good job," after they complied with his directions. He had two shots, with the requisite protests, but didn't cry because Mama brought a new Cars toy to the appointment to distract him. GOOD JOB, D!

Monday Shopping

MB and MC hit the Home Depot early this morning to buy a tool to turn off the water next time we have frozen pipes. Here's hoping we never have to use it!

Engineer in the making?

Yesterday afternoon David designed a lift with string and a plastic cup. He entertained himself for a good while lifting action figures up and down.

An honest (tasty) mistake

Today's hilarious confusion: John's teacher sent a note requesting cans "larger than 12 oz" so the kids could make robots in school. I thought she wanted aluminum cans, so I sent Ned to the jiffy store to pick something up. What sells in cans larger than 12 oz? Beer, of course. So we sent it with John to school today, only to learn that she wanted a food can. Yes, we are parents of the year. And this was Ned's favorite assignment; too bad we failed.
