We got a bunch of wonderful books this past weekend at the Vicksburg shower, in addition to team uniforms. Ned and I will be catching up on Beatrix Potter, re-learning nursery rhymes, and enjoying Goodnight Goon over the next few weeks. Another favorite, pictured here, is Foodie Babies, from our friend Sarah. Could a more perfect book be written for us? According to the book, foodie babies shop farmers' markets, enjoy finger foods, and read cookbooks. We're hoping we'll have one of those.

Insult to injury
Clearly, the Irish mailed this before Saturday's game. Gotta love the optimism, though! Check out the national title possibilities on the last line. (Double click to enlarge the image.)

Delta Diners at Crechale's

Delta Diners have been very busy this month, and with all our traveling we just couldn't face an outing that was too far away. So we opted for Crechale's in Jackson on Thursday night. We faked a birthday for Sandy so we'd get a song, and ate our weight in onion rings. And, since we paid cash for dinner, I got a free bottle of salad dressing. Hooray!

Halloween Candy!
We've been offline awhile. That's because we were working our tails off at the 2009 SFA Symposium. Ned was a terrific help; he hauled, toted, drove, and jumped at my every request. Not that I ever doubted him, but this weekend reminded me just how lucky I am to have married such a great guy. Here's a photo of us at the Halloween candy table. Yep, this means that I passed my 3 hour glucose test. The response was that I was "borderline" passing, which was good enough to give me clearance for Halloween weekend and it'll allow me to avoid all the glucose testing for the rest of my pregnancy. I shouldn't go crazy on sweets, I was told, but one night of candy madness wouldn't hurt. And boy did I splurge! Modjeskas were my favorite treat at the table--marshmallows in caramel. Here's a photo of Ned checking out Baby M. S/he was very active after a night of sugar! Thanks to our friend Sally for the photo.
