Just heard the news in the Netherlands: John Currence won the James Beard Best Chef Southeast for 2009! Nobody deserves it more. Do y'all remember those Moon Pies he made for our wedding? And the late night bologna sandwiches? That kind of food always deserves award!

I still dream about the peanut butter & banana sandwiches that had bacon on them. Oh, my! . . . We already knew he was the best. I have tried to imitate the potato salad, but I can't even come close.
