  3. MelanieMaeThat is because the answer is so esay. It is the theater that John Dillinger was coming out of when he was shot dead by the FBI (Melvin Purvis was given credit for the hit though another agent make have actually made the kill shot.) Dillinger was betrayed by a Polish hooker who was asked to wear red (I believe that she actually wore a shade of orange) so that the FBI could be sure it was Big John. He had been to see "Manhatten Melodrama" staring Clark Gable and Bogart. Dillinger was known to have been proud of his look which reminded many of Bogart.
