Weekend craft project

David wanted to make some fireman's clothes for this Lego dog so that he could then be Marshall from Paw Patrol. John helped color, while Dad handled the scissors. Turned out okay.

Dance Off

Aunt Sarah filmed Dorothy Jane and Mary Claire dancing in the living room. Music courtesy of a wacky Hallmark pig Gram owns. We still can't get the words out of our heads, but the girls love it!

The Easter hallway's getting crowded

(Early) Birthday Boy

For many reasons, we're celebrating John's birthday with several family parties this year (work travels, family visits, etc.). Today was the Valdosta party.

Here's how John looked when he thought he'd opened all his presents and didn't get the "lightsaver" he wanted.
After a short sulk, he was happy when his final gift was revealed.

Meet Rosie

Rosie, seen here in St. Patrick's Day clothes, is cheering for the Lady Irish in the NCAA Tournament. I have the honor of being her godmother, and my first godparent lesson will be teaching her the Notre Dame Fight Song.

Team Mitchell is happy to have a baby next door. The kids love her; see proof here. (As a side note, it's been hard to hold back posting pictures of this sweet child, but we thought it best to let her parents, Sandy and Barrett, share her first.)

Priorities

Batman and his sworn enemy, The Riddler, called a brief truce yesterday at the riverfront park in order to watch a couple of fuel barges being pushed by a river tug.

Ready for the egg drop!

Humpty Dumpty is safely packed inside a pouch suspended by rubber bands and those plastic air bags that came in all our shipped Christmas gifts. Everything is obscured bc David insisted his drop box be decorated like a wall. The white around the bricks that you see is "brick glue, like on our house."

We're not sure why the shirt has to come off, but we'll roll with it.

Happy Birthday, Mary Beth!

We love you so!

We celebrated today with presents, some singing, and lots of cake and other treats. Ned was not quick enough to get a picture of the cake prior to it being demolished, but it lasted a good bit longer than the chocolate-covered donuts with rainbow sprinkles did. And a big 'Thank you!' to Mary Quinn DeRossette, who babysat on short notice this evening so that Ned could take Mary Beth out for her birthday dinner.

The Lion King

The boys love the Lion King. After many requests, we took down the case from Granny's house. They seem to love it, but are frustrated by the impenetrable case.

Look kids, Resonance!

Ned's coworker, Andy, held a gathering this evening at his house to celebrate his recent retirement. The kids were sports and agreed to tag along since Mary Beth was still on the road from her work trip to Nashville. The closest thing to kid-friendly that Andy could come up with was this cool bowl from Nepal that vibrates and makes a cool humming sound when the wooden baton is run around the rim. The kids were more impressed with the potato chips on the snack table, but we still had a nice time. Congrats to Andy!
