Tomato Sauce Saturday

Ned and I had a two person operation, which was efficient.

This is what 40 lbs of chopped tomatoes look like.
There were a bunch more steps: chopping onions and garlic, getting basil, and heating the house while these roasted for hours at 450 degrees. Here's the finished project, Part I.

What did you do on your Saturday? We made tomato sauce out of forty pounds of tomatoes procured at the Jackson Farmers' Market. It was a good idea when we started, and we'll appreciate all the work come January, I keep telling myself. We have about three more pans to roast tomorrow, but we're too tired and it's too hot in this house at 11 p.m.
