Swaddle Magic

Before the swaddle

After the swaddle
Today, John ended up at the doctor's office.  He has RSV, maybe/probably picked up from DAM or another germ carrying creature.  So we were up all night, holding him upright so he could breathe with the humidifier running full force, and first thing this morning MB called the pediatrician and back we went to see Dr. Sluis.  After an RSV test and X-rays (just like David had), MB was relieved to know that we caught it early.  Not so relieving was the fact that there's no real medicine to give him, so we just have to keep him sleeping upright in his baby carrier near a humidifier, and we need to suction him when he sounds slurpy.  Yes, those are the joys of parenthood.  That and sleepless nights...

  1. Hugs to both of you... And DAM (who has to hear the crying)... I hope he gets better; we ended up putting a pillow under his crib mattress to elevate him so it'd be easier for him to breathe... That, and the humidifier, and the Nose Frieda, were the best (well, the 2 times he had RSV he also had some albuterol with the nebulizer... but I don't think it helped much)... Hope he gets better soon!
