Vicksburg Flood

That's Washington Street behind us. Underwater, right downtown.
The flood wall. Note the water pouring through it.
The puddle in front of the depot was the site of our first farmers market.
You might not be able to tell, but the water at the depot is about shoulder deep now.

  1. So are you still holding the farmers' market? And what about that seafood restaurant near the ship, where we ate when I visited? Is it flooded?

  2. The VFM will be held up the hill, just above the Depot so shoppers can get fresh veggies and a good view of all the water. Those plans were in place before the flood, bc they'll be using that underwater parking lot for construction staging. They were in the middle of Depot rehab efforts when all this water inundated the building. Rusty's isn't underwater, but DAM and I are standing right in front of it with the water to our backs in that first photo. The water's really close (you'll remember that it was at the bottom of a hill, in a low-lying area).
