Looking for plane tickets

Ned has a conference in London this May. This time, we were ready -- passports are in hand. Here we are searching for plane tickets. Anybody have suggestions on where to eat in London? No Hard Rock Cafe, please.

  1. Ummh... there was a place nearby Victoria Station (near Buckingham Palace) where you can have really good fish and chips... I'll try to remember the name... And of course... you must have some Indian food while you're there (though the rice doesn't come "free" with the dish, you have to order it -and pay for it- separately!) :)

  2. My good friend Susan Martin sent me a link to your blog. My husband and I went to London in Sept 2007, and we really had a blast eating our way through the place!

    These were my favorites:
Maze - We are big Gordon Ramsey fans (The F Word is probably my favorite TV show), so this was so much fun for us. Loved it.

The White Swan - "Gastro Pub" that was seriously delicious. The Earl Grey custard dessert was the standout I think. We ate in the upstairs dining room, but their pub menu looked delicious also.

Leon - Yummy "superfood" takeout for lunch. We went to the Leon near Oxford Street tube, then walked to Regeants Park for a picnic.

    I also enjoyed:
Nobu - We'd never had Nobu before and went for lunch. The famous Bento box with miso black cod really was delicious.

The Narrow - A Gordon Ramsey pub out in east London. We couldn't get in for dinner, but had pints on the deck that overlooks the Thames. The location on the river really is wonderful. A great place to have a few beers.

I agree with Super Babe (the previous poster). Gotta have a curry while you're there. I would say Wagamama is also not to be missed (even though it is a chain).

I hope these recommendations help you out! If you haven't booked lodging yet, please check out the B+B Belgravia. It is inexpensive by London standards and super convenient to Victoria station in central London. Have fun!
