John's tired, but not too tired to be cute with that sweet belly. Shirts can't contain it! Time for his mama to upsize his clothes. Thank goodness for hand-me-downs from David!

Hail Storm!

You'd never know that David was being pelted by marble-sized ice pellets from the way he smiled and danced around. His Mama went inside because they hurt when they hit her. We let him collect a cup of ice for the freezer so he could tell his dad about it when he came home.

Sad day in Verona

The old Sample homestead on Palmetto Road in Verona burned to the ground this afternoon. Not much is known for sure at this point concerning cause, though it would certainly appear to have been set. M.A. and Aunt Da are sad as they remember many fond years at their "summer house" in the country. David, Jimmy, and Ned picked daffodils (visible in first pic) for Mary Beth from the front yard here just two weeks ago.

David now likes to watch tv upside down. Hopefully, it'll be a quick phase.

John's first birthday isn't until April 1, but with lots of family in town for Easter dinner, we'll celebrate in Valdosta a day early. Join us if you're nearby. Presents are not necessary. An appetite for cake is! (The fine print says lunch is at 1:30 and cake is at 3:00.)

Train Songs

I've been working on the train song playlist. It still has a ways to go, and I need to reorder it, but here's the start. Suggestions welcome. Since it's for David, primarily, train songs need to be lively. And, preferably, bearable for parents to hear.

David continued his streak of being envious of all his friends with train sets. The Easter Bunny needs to take note.

Even Ned was envious of a toy James had, because it had first belonged to James's dad, and Ned had one just like it as a kid.

Team Mitchell enjoyed a Batman birthday party Saturday afternoon for our friend, James, who is turning four today. A good time was had by all.
