Thursday in DC
We met our friend, Sally, at the Folklife Festival for lunch.
It was hot, hot, hot -- but not as hot as tomorrow will be!
We strolled by the Supreme Court to see the activity, but DAM was bored by all the press.

Milking a cow at the Folklife Festival
This year, the festival celebrates 150 years of USDA and land grant colleges. MS State has an exhibit on the Mall, where DAM "milked" a cow today. Seriously.

We strolled up to U Street today...twice
The day was too pretty not to be outside, and the rest of the week into the weekend is predicted to be filled with scorching heat. No, we didn't get a chili dog, but we will soon. Tonight it was a jumbo slice of pizza and leftovers for dinner.

Saturday with the boys
Saturday was very busy.
David flew an airplane
while his Daddy and John watched (sleepily) from the runway.
He also drove a monster truck
and a cool red sports car.
Afterwards it was really hot, so the boys relaxed in the shade.
Then David was off to explore some dinosaur fossils.
We attempted a family photo before leaving, but David was hot and having none of it.
Only a Slushie and a cup of cold water calmed him down. (Really, it did. 7-11 sells sugar-free ices!)
John ended the day flirting with a little girl at our dinner spot, Bayou Bakery. MB is smiling here, but is really not happy with competition for John's affections.

Hot summer days
After getting all dirty at the Turtle Park sand box, it was nice that there was a splash pad for DAM to run through and clean up a bit!

Last night w/ Uncle Daniel in DC
Not sure who will miss him more--the boys, or their Mama! He's been such a great help; next week will be hard without him.
Tuesday Baseball
Tickets: $9 each. Beer: $10 each. O's beat the Pirates. David runs around the ballpark, uninterested in anything but popcorn and puddles. And there was a Johnny Unitas statue on our way back to the car.

Mission: tire out David
At Turtle Park hoping David will run himself straight into a nap. Brother John is already exhausted. Thanks to Uncle Daniel for chasing DAM!
