Pontotoc Weekend

Mary Beth's work in Oxford afforded the kids some weekend country time in Pontotoc. They loved it. They fished and kissed fish (well, John did). They went to the Bodock Festival in downtown Pontotoc and enjoyed a petting zoo where they were fearless in feeding llamas and pigs. John even met Spider-Man, though David politely passed on the opportunity for Spidy to pick him up. He preferred to admire his hero from afar.

John and Mary Claire enjoyed themselves in Pontotoc this week while Mary Beth was running a conference in Oxford. David and Ned held down the fort in Vicksburg.

so I went on a hunt to see what was happening, and found them sitting together sweetly watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. John didn't even seem to mind that MC stole his drink.

Introducing Dorothy Jane Lasseter Dean

Now that Sarah and Brian have had time to share their good news, we want to share it, too! We're excited to welcome our newest niece into the world, Miss Dorothy Jane. She was born on Monday (also my brother Patrick's birthday), and has a head full of hair that makes Mary Claire green with envy. Cousin rivalry aside, all the Mitchell kids are excited to have a new baby in the mix when we go home for the next family holiday.
