The kids have been good this weekend, even though their mama flew off to Michigan for Camp Bacon and left them to fend for themselves with ole Dad. Fortunately, M.A. has been here as well to help take care of everybody.

Very hungry caterpillars...
...and very curious boys. The dill in the herb garden is nearly gone (look closely to see where one caterpillar has already moved on to the parsley). David and John were fascinated, and not even a downpour could keep them from nature watching.

Dinner at Grady's house!
Team Mitchell had a great time visiting with Lauchlin, Olivia, and Grady last night. Mary Claire was impressed by what a little gentleman Grady is, and she seemed quite pleased when he asked if he could hold her.

Flashback: tornado dodging
After we almost ran head-on into the Richland tornado on Monday (on long drive back from Valdosta), we fled south to Highway 84 before making our way back via Brookhaven. We stopped to let the boys stretch, and David helped himself to a pop-tart for dinner and even shared one with John. The kids are almost always good travelers, but they were real troopers on this super-long day. We are grateful for safe travels.
